Kerry said Bush made his case for war based on at least two pieces of U.S. intelligence that now appear to be wrong that Iraq sought nuclear material from Africa and that Saddam's regime had aerial weapons capable of attacking the United States with biological material.I don't remember these being particularly key points in the run-up to the war. Anyway, this kind of post-hoc posturing is demolished here.
"He misled every one of us," Kerry said. "That's one reason why I'm running to be president of the United States."Mmm. Good point. A senator on the foreign relations committee, with experience on the intelligence committee, who was convinced four years ago that Saddam was a threat -- and he was duped into war by a fellow most Democrats think can't even tie his own shoes? That's a man I want to promote to president.
Still, Kerry said it is too early to conclude whether or not war with Iraq was justified. He supported the war and is glad Saddam is gone, but he doesn't know if it was justified. Here's a slogan for the campaign: John Kerry: He's a little confused right know, but when he figures things out, he'll let you know.Kerry supported the war and said Wednesday, "I'm glad Saddam Hussein is gone."
