More Agitator: Radley had this post on Friday, and sadly I missed it. Since my city will soon be installing red light cameras, it's very disturbing to hear stories like this, even if they may be exaggerated. The possibilities are frightening enough.

Question: Is the point of these cameras to deter motorists from running red lights or to punish them if they do it anyway? The left never fails to reminds us deterrence doesn't work when the death penalty is threatened, so why should it work when a hundred bucks is on the line. And if deterrence is the point, and it miraculously is successful at getting motorists to break their bad habits, are we then left with a bunch of unnecessary, legacy technolgy that ceases to pay for itself with ticket revenue? This is a terrible idea. This is a better one.
