Next: Income inequality: We still hear the fretting too often about globalization. Big corporation goes overseas, sets up a sweatshop, and whips on ten year olds to drive profits. But look here, what happens when a big American company like.....I don't know, Nike, starts giving jobs to people.
Furthermore, the Nike job comes with a regular wage, with free or subsidised meals, free medical services and training and education. The most persistent demand Nike hears from the workers is for an expansion of the factories so that their relatives can be offered a job as well.
Despite the embarrassment that comes from being praised by the Communist Party of Vietnam, this has to feel good.
