Jerusalem as Belfast: David Frum offers a metaphoric role for Abu Mazen -- be Palestine's Michael Collins, the Irish rebel (and, don't kid yourself, terrorist) who was willing to fight England for freedom and to fight Ireland for peace. The parallels are actually excellent. Collins was a fiercely nationalistic, and as anti-British, as any of his fellows, but accepted the imperfect peace of partition. Could the ol' holocaust denier Abu see the same kind of opportunity?
