Why are liberals so boring?: I always ask myself this question when I hear the next attempt at a liberal talk radio host (a la Hightower) who inevitably fails. Same goes for the "peace" demonstrations. The fact is, no one really cares about Iraqis dying, and no one really expects any significant number of Americans to die (let's all hope that is true). The point is that the war is seen as Bush's baby, and since it's all they have, the liberals take to calling it ugly as a way to hurt the parent. But, it's so obviously phony that it loses any merit that might exist deep down, if used on its own merits, and not as a political jibe. Liberals simply don't give good soundbites. They always sound either holier-than-thou ("War is bad." "Feed the poor."), or feeble-minded (try to have a liberal explain tax policy - even when I agree with them, it is often worded badly: "The rich have too much. Gimme some!"). Conservatives always have juicier commentary.
