Thanks for the memories: Bob Hope dies at 100. There was plenty written about the man a few weeks ago, when he made the century mark, so I won't go into it. Besides, the man was from a different era that I only understood vaguely. I remember being young enough (probably about ten) to be looking forward to a Bob Hope special on tv and being kindly informed by schoolmates that I was an incomparable dork for saying so. And I think that was it for fifteen years, then I saw him only once a year, at the Bob Hope Classic golf tournament riding in cart, greeting players, and swatting the occasional ball. Once again, I thought Hope was cool. RIP.
