Golf is expensive - so are many adult patimes, but I don't get all bent out of shape when some dolt drops $500 on a bottle of wine he'll never drink. Whatever floats your boat.
And not every activity needs to be kid friendly. Sky diving isn't very accesible to children, since you need to be 18 to hurtle yourself out of an airplane, but many adults seem to enjoy it. In fact, why doesn't Jay Mohr go jump out one right now.
